Astral Realm

My new web project is finally live: astralrealm.co.uk.

Hopefully bug free but I have done minimal IE9/10 testing. If you are running an older browser then you will get redirected to a legacy version of the site.

Enjoy!

This week

Finally...my new website should be up by the end of this week, keep 'em peeled...and don't forget your up-to-date browser :)

Ever closer

We are close, hopefully within a few more weeks of being close to complete.

All the content for the new site is done, it is just the site that needs the finishing touches.

The site...well some info...lets just says it's experimental. I am taking this opportunity to explore some of the new functionality the web has to offer...after all the web is moving on.

What does that mean? Well put simply it will require an up-to-date browser and by that I mean any of the following:

When it comes to Internet Explorer (IE), well I know for sure that IE8 is behind the times and the site will not work. Due to the unique way Microsoft makes its software available, I will try to test the site in IE9 and 10 to see if they have caught up with the times.

The future...continued

A quick update - another two images are complete with another two to go before I start work on the site. We are getting closer!

The future

It has been over a year since the last update to the galleries and I don't think there will be any future updates. Don't worry, I do not plan to shut the site down - it will remain up as an archive.

I felt I needed to take my work in a new direction, so over the past few months I have been working on a new web-based project. Initially I hope to have eight to ten images completed when I release the site, and then add a new one every quarter. I have a few more images to go before it's ready but hope to have something to show in the next few months.

When it does go live I will post another update here, so stay tuned!

Home

Welcome to my artwork website. Inside you will find a collection of high-resolution 3D rendered images created using Pandromeda's Mojoworld. Images are found in the form of landscapes, panoramas and abstracts. There is also a Skybox gallery which contains some interactive panoramic views.

The skybox gallery requires Adobe Shockwave Player. File sizes range from about four to nine MBs, so do take a few moments to load.

I hope you enjoy what you see and I thank you for taking the time visit. If you are interested in viewing other people's artwork, there are a bunch of sites listed on the links page. Any enquiries, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Old News

News for January 2009

The Skybox gallery is complete and has now replaced the Quicktime gallery (see Semptember 2008 news below for more info). A couple of the originals have been re-rendered from new & improved POVs, as well as there being a brand new one for you to check out!

News for December 2008

As 'The Art of Lewis Moorcroft' approaches five years old, I have compiled a show reel of works over these past five years. I hope you enjoy!

News for September 2008

I have started playing around with 'Skyboxes' which are basically another form of the QTVRs I already have. There are a couple of differences which I hope will improve the viewing experience. Firstly they are full screen instead of a small fixed-size and secondly the scrolling is a lot smoother and less blocky compared to that of the QTVRs. I have a little more testing to do but I plan to re-render and replace the entire QTVR gallery over the next couple of months with these higher resolution skyboxes. A sneak-peak of Shicra is available. You will need to download Adobe Shockwave Player in order to view these. Expect larger file sizes, but I think the viewing experience is well worth it!

News for March 2008

There is now a new Mixed Medium Gallery on the site. This gallery will feature images constructed from various components - the predominant format being elements from photography and renderings, with final additions and composition done in Photoshop. I hope you enjoy!
